Arkansas baby factory lady…

…expecting 18th drain on natural resources child.

Jesus motherfucking Christ. 18 motherfucking kids. Despite every feminist neuron in my brain telling me I’m an asshole for thinking this, I honestly can’t help but wonder…how fucking beat out is that vagina? And is she just covered from head to toe in stretch marks?

The fact that this shit is even considered news (a southern evangelical couple ISN’T using birth control? No!) is bad enough, but the media attention and essential validation of their horrifically extravagant, inefficient, and egregious lifestyle is pretty disturbing. Let’s put it in perspective: when you hear about rich people having, like, five cars, don’t you just want to vomit with rage? These breeders have NINE – led by a 21 passenger bus. They’ve gone through 90,000 diapers and wash 200 loads of clothes each month in industrial-sized washer/dryers. They spend 2 grand each month on food, which is more than I get paid. Their house is 7,000 square feet, about the size of Paris Hilton’s new mansion. Celebrities who wear a brand new pair of underpants every day are the least of our problems, and if any ‘ol asshole were this wasteful we’d burn their ass at the stake. These people are getting a free pass why? Because their lavishness is the result of CHOOSING to have a bunch of kids? Why is that a fucking excuse? Popping out 18 kids is the ultimate self-indulgent extravagance.

(Not to mention the fact that if she were brown and/or poor, she’d be mercilessly crucified for having that many children.)

I find it interesting that the mainstream media is currently spewing thousands of shitty articles and newsclips about bullshit, useless, expensive organic crap we can blow our dumb white money on to be more “green,” telling us to stop driving, and slapping our ignorant wrists for drinking bottled watter, while at the same time, these people are being applauded for having explosive diarrhea all over the concept of conservation and environmental responsibility.

There are only two things about this family that I think are awesome:

1) Mama was on the Pill for their first four years of marriage, so this “family planning is the work of Satan” trip they’re on really only happened after they themselves had benefited from the same freedoms they’re currently trying to deny other women and couples. This happens all the time. Oh, and also: on the Pill for four years and then 18 kids with an average of 18 months in between each pregnancy? That is a LOT of fucking! (And a lot of hypocrisy!)

2) The dad’s name is Jim Bob. Jim fucking Bob. Jim Bob Duggar. Yes!

(P.S.  Don’t even think about coming at me with that tired old conservative argument “well, you believe in CHOICE, so you should respect hers!”  They’re half right:  I’ll defend to the death any woman’s right to have as many or as few children as she wishes, but that doesn’t mean you’re exempt from criticism from other standpoints.  As a defender of reproductive rights, I have no problem with her decision (except for that it’s pretty much a given that she votes to deny all other women the right to the same reproductive decision-making freedom she feels entitled to).  As an envionementalist, an anarchist, a feminist, and a person who is really critical of mainstream media and the wealth distribution gap, however, I got issues – and they’re legit, so fuck off.)

  • I hear you. My feminist brain wants to say, “But if I can choose to have one child OR choose to have no children ever, then shouldn’t it be her choice to have 18 or more?” But honestly, I don’t really feel that way…it’s not even about the draining of resources or over-population. The dad has even said that they’re saving up money for the boys’ college education…but not the girls. What?!?!

What do you bet there will be a few homosexuals (gasp) and a few criminals in that bunch of kids. Statistically speaking, it’s bound to happen.

  • Holy crap, you’re right. I totally didn’t even think about the high probability of there being a homo in that bunch, and I fucking LOVE it!

Also, I missed where he said he was saving up for teh boyz college education and leavin’ out the girls, but that is disgusting. A-holes.

  • The oldest son just got married. And, no lie, there was a clause written into his marriage vows that they would not use birth control and let God gift them with children as He sees fit.

He is 20 and she is 19 … they’ve got a lot of fertile years ahead of them.

  • Cue Pull n’ Pray. In about 6 months that dude is going to be all “fuck, just ONCE can I come in you?!” and the lady’s gonna be all “do it and I’ll bite your nuts off” (or, more likely, “yes master! Want a sandwich too?”)

    Ugh.

The problem is there is no way to stop people from behaving like this without seriously curtailing their freedoms. I’m fine with denying people the freedom to produce 18 children, but unfortunately most people are not. And in a democracy people will have such freedom, the freedom to behave badly.
