Tiffany,
Nothing that a little Hope & Change can't fix. To coin a phrase, as of 11:00 PM "Free at last. Free at last. Thank Gawd Almighty. Free at last."

And thanks for the info re: a blast to talk to. I'll surely go out of my way to do so now.

She is an amazing blast to talk to, and Kendall, THANK YOU. I mean, this is all the stuff all of us have been saying this whole time. I mean, what kind of nation is PROUD of it's bigotry? We tout SO MUCH and SO OFTEN how we're the land of the free and the home of the brave. As you said, the GLBT community is treated as second class citizens - how is that free? And people are scared of non-existent issues of gay marriage ruining straight marriage. How is this the home of the brave?

One of the arguments is that it's going to cost so much money because gay people can't get married in the church and they can sue. Last time I checked, I'm straight, and I can't get married in the church either due to my religious affiliations. Even if my boyfriend was a hardcore christian (which he's not) there's no way they're letting a heathen witch like me get married. Who's to stop me from suing? Fallacy in their argument right there.

And this absolute CROCK over teaching gay marriage in school. OH. MY. GOD. Really? REALLY? What's wrong with telling kids the truth? Are you afraid it's going to make them (oh noes) THE GAY. And they're worried that ministers are going to be sued for hate speech. Now, I don't think monetarily ruining someone is the best idea, but really, why not teach them a little tolerance? We're promoting a proposition that ENCOURAGES people to hate? What is wrong with our country????!!!?!?!

Holy shit, this was seriously one of the most entertaining and funny reads I have had in a long time. And yet the logic is so sound! Love it. I wish I could be more colloquial in my editorials because most of the time what I'm thinking behind the fancy rhetoric is "FUCK YOU YOU CRAZY PIECES OF SHIT."
